Advantages of a peer-to-peer network:
- Less initial expense, because it does not required a dedicated server.
- Simple setup, an operating system is already in place, only need to be reconfigured for peer-to-peer operations.
Disadvantages of a peer-to-peer network:
- Decentralized – means no central repository for files and applications.
- Low security - it does not provide the security available on a client/server network.
