Network Bridge
A bridge is a networking hardware that connects two or more Local Area Network (LAN) so that they can communicate. Local Area Network (LAN) can be limited in its transmission distance. Therefore, a bridge can be a solution by acting as a repeater. Besides that, bridge can control the amout of traffic going through it sent across the expensive network media. In other words, it keeps the information flowing on both sides of the network but it does not allow the unnecessary traffic goes through it.
Bridge use to connect two LANs
Bridges are similar to repeaters or network hub. They connect the network segments at the physical layer, however a bridge works by using bridging where traffic from one network is managed rather than simply rebroadcast again to adjacent network segments. It can monitors both sides of the network and then optimize the performance on both sides of the networks
